■ Bass guitarist Sammy Webber is celebrating his time in the music industry with the show 40 Years and Counting on Wednesday November 21 at the Baxter Concert Hall, at 8.15pm. Webber, 59, hails from Retreat and is proud to be associated with the area where he learnt how to play the guitar. He cut his performing teeth with a number of bands, including Inside Out, U-Turn, Funtime, and Virtual Jazz Reality. About eight years ago he was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, which has severely affected his eyesight. He uses special lights on the neck of his guitar when he performs.
