Claremont Dramatic Society will stage Billy Liar from Friday May 25 to Saturday June 2 at the Masque Theatre in Muizenberg.

It tells the story of Billy Fisher, a lazy dreamer bored with his job and life at home with his family, who takes refuge in his own invented world, which makes his life tolerable, but intolerable for everyone else around him. He lies his way in and out of every situation, creating tensions at home with his parents and ailing grandma, trouble at work with missing money, as well as romantic problems with the three very different women he’s promised to marry.

Billy Liar was a book, play, movie and TV series.

This production was written by Keith Waterhouse and Willis Hall as stars Bryan Look as Billy.

Ticket prices are R90 for matinees, Wednesday and Thursday evenings and R100 for Friday and Saturday evenings. Bookings at Computicket or 021 788 1898 or
