A Mitchell’s Plain theatre production company is aiming to keep audiences in stitches while also giving them a moral story they can see themselves in.
Tolla “Funny” Kaap Productions will be showcasing Wie gaan na my kyk? at the Joseph Stone Auditorium, corner of Protea Street and Klipfontein Road, Athlone, every Friday at 8pm, Saturday at 8pm and Sunday at 3pm in March.
This is their second production after they performed Wat praat jy van sabr? at the Joseph Stone, Spine Road High School hall and Bellville civic centre in 2015.
They will be selling DVDs, at a cost of R120, of their previous show at the auditorium this year.
Magmoed Ganief, director and co-writer of the play, said it had a bit of everything and the message is that people should not judge others because one day they may need their help.
He said they performed for community organisations to host fundraising events.
“We try to promote an Islamic ethos but also for audiences to better themselves,” he said.
