Businesswoman Magda Wierzycka spoke about her biography, Magda – My Journey, with former TV and radio news anchor Tracy Going, at Exclusive Books, Cavendish Square, last week.

The co-founder of multi-billion-rand financial services empire Sygnia Limited, Ms Wierzycka, who lives at the V&A Waterfront, is one of South Africa’s most successful businesswoman.

Her book tells the story of her life, from her childhood in communist Poland, her family’s defection to Austria and eventual relocation to South Africa, her early struggles in the male-dominated financial services industry, and the formation and growth of Sygnia.

She has become an outspoken critic of corporate and government corruption, exposing wrongdoing and making many powerful enemies in the process.

In this book, she shares life lessons and business principles that will inspire and empower the reader not only to survive in life and business, but to thrive.

Proceeds from the sales of the book will be donated to the Saartjie Baartman Centre for Women and Children, based in Manenberg.
