Camillo Lombard is due to perform at the Mitchell’s Plain DStv Festival. More than 40 000 people are expected to attend – and some of the country’s finest musicians will take to the stage at – the annual Mitchell’s Plain Festival at Westridge Gardens from Friday November 30 to Sunday December 2.
Many small business owners will also exhibit their innovative offerings on the grounds. Sunday’s line-up will include performances by international singing sensations, Sybil and Judy Boucher. “This festival aims to celebrate progress being made and positivity coming out of our forgotten communities,” said Mitchell’s Plain Festival director Rozario Brown. “This festival is also about creating a platform to bring the people together, not only Mitchell’s Plain but from areas across the Cape Flats and the Western Cape.” On Friday November 30 and Saturday December 1, pensioners, the physically disabled and children under the age of six, enter free. Children aged six to 12 years pay R30 each and anyone older than 13 pays R50. On Sunday December 2, children under six enter free, those aged six to 12 years, and pensioners pay R60.
