In memory of Lion Jack Segall, who was a founder member of the Lions Club of Kirstenbosch which was chartered 56 years ago, the club set up the Jack Segall Bursary Fund in his honour in 2016. The focus of the bursary fund is to assist gifted students with school fees and related expenses. This year six Grade 12 pupils from four high schools and a Grade 11 pupil from Fish Hoek High School received bursaries. Pictured are pupils who were awarded their bursaries at a ceremony last month at the Lions Club House in Newlands. They are, from left, Nur Isaacs, Kelly Mentor and Bilqees Jacobs, from Mount View High School, in Hanover Park. They are pictured with Merlin Segall, the widow of the late Jack Segall, and Ann Barr.
