In celebration of his 20th anniversary as a gospel singer, Paul Voegt is launching his sixth CD on Saturday November 27, called Oh Holy Night, with a concert at the Bonteheuwel Celebration Centre.
This CD, which will be released just in time for Christmas, comes after his other CDs, which include, The Reason, The Inspirational Classics, This Christmas, Stand (which is a single), and 20 Years Celebration.
The Bontheheuwel resident said he is dedicating his latest CD to his beloved community. “Despite our social and economic challenges, we are not a forgotten community. Despite what is happening in our community, we still have God,” Mr Voegt said.
Mr Voegt will be supported by artists such as Godfrey Fortuin, Shermer Pretorius, Claudine Cornelius, Jason Pretorius, Pastor John Philmon and Desmond Stevens.
“Over the past 20 years, I have had the honour of sharing a stage with Jonathan Butler, I’ve shared moments with Loyiso Bala, and many others. I also want to help upcoming artists, and on the night of concert, I will reveal who we have selected to have a single recorded, free-of-charge.
“I have collaborated with Rendpro Music Productions over the years, and they are assisting with this. I would like to urge all churches to come to the launch concert, and bring their worship teams. I will be sharing my testimony, and explain why I lose myself in worship.”
Part of the reason he chose to launch this CD, Mr Voegt said, was that he has been approached by “church folk” and his family “to do something great” for the community.
The CD launch concert takes place at the Bonteheuwel Celebration Centre, at the Bonteheuwel town centre, on the corner of Honeysuckle and Bluegum streets. Tickets are R30 each for adults and R10 each for children. CDs will be on sale for R70 each. Contact Ashley at 071 524 7540 or Mr Voegt at 076 863 2517.
