Bishop Lavis police are searching for three men linked to the killing of a 51-year-old man in Bonteheuwel.
The station’s spokesman, Warrant Officer Joseph Swartbooi, said an eyewitness had reported seeing the victim arguing with the three men in Bonteheuwel Avenue on Wednesday August 12, at about 6pm, when one of the men had shot him in the neck.
Bishop Lavis police arrested a 37-year-old man, on Thursday night August 13, for the illegal possession of a gun and bullets.
Police say the man was found with a Norinco Star 9mm pistol at a Citrus Street house in Bonteheuwel.
Bishop Lavis police are investigating an attempted murder after a 26-year-old man was shot on Saturday August 8.
Police say the man was walking home from Kreefgat when two men approached him. He threw his cellphone down to distract them and ran, but he was shot in his buttocks.
He was taken to Vanguard Day Hospital. The perpetrators are still at large.
