Extras needed for series

Filming of the SABC 2 drama series, Melody, started on Sunday December 1 last year, and on Friday February 7, the last scene will be shot in Bridgetown.

The Bridgetown Theatre Company is calling on the community to volunteer to appear in a scene for the SABC television drama series, called Melody.

The scene will be shot on Friday February 7 on the corner of Loerie Road and Cornflower Street, from 8pm to 10pm.

Zelda Hintsa, spokesperson for the Bridgetown Theatre Company, said no appointment is needed, and volunteers can arrive on the night, dressed in casual clothes.

“The Bridgetown Theatre Company, together with the SABC, Gemini Twins Films and the Ergo Company, have been filming in the Bridgetown and Athlone areas since Sunday December 1 last year. The filming of the scene, where we call on the community to come out to be part of the filming, will be the last day of a wonderful 10 weeks. Hundreds of community members were empowered through this television drama series,” Ms Hintsa said.

Kim Bowers plays the role of Melody, the character this series is focused on. This SABC 2 drama series is 26-episodes long.
