A 16-year-old boy was fatally shot outside his home in Sonderend Road, Manenberg, on Friday March 3.
According to Captain Ian Bennett, spokesman for Manenberg police station, the boy had a history of mental illness and had had an argument with his mother on the day he was shot.
He was found with three bullet wounds to the head and died at the scene. A case of murder has been opened for investigation.
Two men aged 16 and 21 were brought in for questioning on Friday March 3.
On Thursday March 2, a 33-year-old man was shot while standing in Pam Walk, Manenberg.
It is alleged that two men standing on the corner of Rio Grande Road and Pam Walk had fired several shots down Pam Walk, injuring him on his right side.
Stray bullets penetrated a wendy house, missing an eight-year-old girl, who was on the bed sleeping. The two suspects fled the scene on foot. The injured man was taken to hospital for medical treatment.
A case of attempted murder was opened for investigation.
Last week, three men aged 22, 26 and 42 were shot and injured in separate incidents in Manenberg.
On Wednesday March 1, the 42-year-old was on his way home when he was hit in his ankle by a stray bullet. It is not known who fired the shot or where it came from.
The man was taken to Heideveld Emergency Centre for medical treatment.
A case of attempted murder has been opened for investigation.
Also on Wednesday March 1, at about 6.26pm, a 26-year-old man was caught in crossfire on his way to a shop in Renoster Walk, Manenberg.
The man is allegedly a member of a gang. He then discovered that he had been shot in his left arm.
He was taken to hospital where he received medical treatment.
A case of attempted murder has been opened for investigation. The suspects fled the scene on foot.
On the same day a 22-year-old man was shot and wounded while standing at the gate of his home in Scheldt Walk, Manenberg.
According to Captain Bennett, an unknown man walked in his direction and fired a shot at him, hitting him in the upper right leg.
He is allegedly a member of a gang. The man was taken to the Heideveld Emergency Centre for medical treatment.
The suspect fled the scene on foot. A case of attempted murder has been opened for investigation.
