Metro police arrested two men, aged 22 and 29 years old, on Saturday March 3 on drug charges.
Police followed up on information about drugs being sold at a house in Manenberg and upon their search found 260 dagga stoppe, 70 mandrax tablets, 36 dagga cigarettes, 19 bankies of dagga and R509 in cash. The men were arrested and detained at Manenberg police station.
On Friday March 2 police arrested a 25-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman under the Criminal Amendment Act 18 of 2015 and for the possession of stolen property.
Police received information regarding suspects who were vandalising rail infrastructure of the Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (PRASA) and searched a premises in Waterburg Street, Heideveld, where they found copper.
The suspects were detained at Manenberg police station for further investigation and are due to appear in the Bishop Lavis Magistrate’s Court once charged.
After being identified by relevant in-house technicians as rail overhead copper cables, the items seized were handed over to Prasa.
