Police have arrested four men and are looking for a fifth after recovering more than R80 000 worth of stolen railway cable in Lansdowne.
According to Lansdowne police station spokesman Sergeant Nkululeko Mnyaka, officers arrested four men aged 24 to 34 near a scrapyard in Wetton Road on Thursday January 9.
Officers had found more than 300kg of cable, worth R83 000, in the two bakkies the men had been travelling in, said Sergeant Mnyaka.
The suspects were held on possession of stolen property charges.
A fifth man who fled the scene is still at large.
