Jonathan Rubain’s I’m in love with a Guitarist, at the Baxter, was a musical jazz feast for all guitarist jazz lovers.
Rubain has come of age despite his relative youth.
His music is influenced by his upbringing in the Pentecostal Church in Hanover Park.
He is not shy to articulate his humble beginnings and his persistent calls to the late jazz guitarist, the legendary Errol Dyers, ensured his sharing platforms as bassist with the jazz icon.
Rubain shares the stage with locals including the youth band known as the Jazz Yard Academy from Bonteheuwel, opening their set with Carlos Santana’s Europa, to the audience’s delight.
Thank you Jonathan Rubain for a thoroughly entertaining evening of fantastic jazz.
