Breast Care Foundation, a non-profit organisation established four years ago, handed out grocery parcels and clothing to 90 people at the Heideveld Community Health Care Centre on Friday March 9. The organisation was started by Lydia Alexander, who is a breast cancer survivor. It provides prosthesis to underprivileged women who have undergone a mastectomy, and food parcels for nourishment to take their medication and improvement of life. Breast Care Foundation relies solely on the generosity of sponsors and also does cancer and HIV/Aids awareness. Sasha Coetzee, a member of the Breast Care Foundation team, said the food parcels were made possible by generous donors, and she thanked them for their support.
