Riette Luitingh, Three Anchor Bay
In response to the letter of Rick Bartes “Easter thoughts” (Athlone News, April 17), as to why, with a predominantly Christian population in South Africa, our public broadcasters blatantly ignore this fact and do nothing to stop the Lord’s name being used as a curse word on TV?
I continually question this problem too and find it utterly offensive and fail to understand why non-believers insist on doing this.
Last night I was stunned … I saw an advertisement for a programme to be aired on May 19 on e.tv, called Helena – A haven for witches.
Yes, I do not know the content of the programme but the name already says a lot … this on our national open broadcaster … and on a Sunday night.
