A 36-year-old man died after being shot four times in the chest while sitting with friends outside a house in Sonderend Road, Manenberg, on Tuesday March 28.
The man’s friends were injured during the shooting. The shooter is still at large.
Manenberg police spokesman Captain Ian Bennett said the dead man’s friends had fled the scene and only reported their injuries later.
Two alleged gang members, aged 24 and 27, were shot and wounded by rival gang members while walking in Duinefontein Road, Manenberg, on Sunday April 2, at 8.15pm.
The 27-year-old was hit in the chest and leg and the 24-year-old was hit multiple times in the upper body.
The shooters fled, leaving their victims lying on the pavement. They are still at large.
“We need the community of Manenberg to be more active in reporting gang violence and gang activity,” said Captain Bennett.
“We cannot allow these shootings to continue, leading to the killing of our children. Let’s stop the conflict by doing the right thing – report crime.”

Police arrested an 18-year-old man for possession of an unlicenced firearm on Wednesday March 29.
Officers on patrol in Manenberg saw a man with something in his hands and chased him towards Dina Court when he ran.
The man had been carrying a 9mm pistol without a magazine or ammunition, said Captain Bennett.
