Police arrested two men after a Bridgetown shop was robbed.
According to Athlone police spokeswoman, Sergeant Zita Norman, four men held up the Blossom Street shopowner and his two employees on Sunday April 19, at 4pm.
Two men entered the shop and threw sand in the shopkeepers’ faces; one of the robbers pulled a gun on them.
Then two more men entered and closed the doors. The robbers took memory cards, watch batteries, electrical wires, hookah-pipe flavours, cellphones, toys, Zakah funds in a tin and R10Â 000 cash.
One of the shopkeepers was pistol-whipped three times on the head.
Police arrested two suspects the next day. The other two are still at large.
