Hanover Park police arrested a 15-year-old boy for being in possession of a 9mm Norinco Star pistol on Friday April 13.
Officers on patrol searched the boy on the corner of Surran Road and Helman’s Walk.
Philippi police station spokesman Captain Lance Goliath said the gun and a magazine loaded with 9mm ammunition was found on the boy who was due to appear in the Athlone Magistrate’s Court on Monday April 16.
Manenberg police arrested a 32-year-old man on Tuesday April 10 for dealing in drugs.
The Tambo village resident was arrested after police were deployed to the Manenberg policing precinct to combat gang violence. A tip-off lead them to an address in Mcosana Road, Tambo Village.
According to Manenberg police station’s spokesman Captain Ian Bennett, upon searching the premises police found 33 parcels of compressed dagga. Each parcel has an estimated value of R1000.
The man was arrested and appeared in the Athlone Magistrate’s Court on Thursday April 12.
