The Siva Aalayam in Ruth Road, Rylands, will be closed to the public until further notice due to the threat of Covid-19.
Guru Krishna is performing the necessary prayers required at the temple and live streaming the Sunday services on Facebook.
“We appeal to all devotees not to panic but to keep faith in God and use this time
for self awareness and prayer and to follow the hygiene guidelines. Please also ensure the safety of your children and beware of criminals using this as a means to enter people’s homes and rob them. May the blessings of Lord Shiva be upon you,” the temple said in a statement.
The Siva Aalayam community hall will also not be available for hire until further notice.
Other temples in Rylands, including the Radha Krishna in Jeram Avenue, and the Shree Vishnu Mandir and the Samaj Centre in Temple Road, have also been closed.
