The Bridgetown Theatre Company (BTC), in collaboration with Bridgetown High School, will be hosting their mid-year show called Night of Spectacular Fun on Friday July 28, at 7.30pm, at Bridgeville Primary School hall.
Part of the proceeds of the night will go towards Lance Gordon, a young Bridgetown resident who has the opportunity to play baseball in Canada next month.
The rest of the proceeds will go towards the
40 BTC youth who will be attending a BTC leadership and performing arts camp from Wednesday August 9 to Sunday August 13 in Bloubergstrand.
The event will showcase extracts from all BTC productions from January until July this year.
This includes their successful musical performance at the V&A Waterfront amphitheatre, dances from their 2017 Cape Town Carnival performers, Artscape dramas, Cancer Relay show, Youth Day show, several community shows, and its current touring musicals.
They will also be performing an extract from the upcoming Bridgetown High School/ Bridgetown Theatre Company’s musical Kaleidoscope that will be performed at GrandWest on Saturday August 19.
As well as the youth dance show Whatever, also on the programme will be 25 BTC youth who recently took part in the master class inspired stages workshop at GrandWest from Monday July 10 to Tuesday July 11, during the school holidays.
Here they up-skilled their dancing, singing and music talents.
The most exciting aspect of the workshop was the opportunity to display their talents in dance, music instruments and singing when they produced their own four music videos. The same youth also gave of their time when they performed on Saturday July 1, with great success at the Cape Town Association for the Physically Disabled’s open day in Bridgetown.
Furthermore there will be many guest artists including a rap group, live bands, dance groups, belly dancing, solo artist and many more.
Night of Spectacular Fun is choreographed by Caren Davids, Chanice Sauls and produced by Nadine Koopman.
Ticket cost is R25 and children under 12 pay R10. There is secure, free parking and food will be on sale.
