The City of Cape Town’s Women for Change group from Bridgetown/Silvertown, hosted a Valentine’s Day event for 80 seniors from their area, as well as those from Parktown and Heideveld on Tuesday February 13. Supervisor Evelyn Marinus said her team raised funds to do this event. “We just wanted to put a smile on their faces and to show them that there are people out here who care,” Ms Marinus said.
Marion Kannemeyer, Frank Nicholas, Anita Ruiters, Ward 44 councillor Anthony Moses, Veronica Jansen, Ward 49 councillor Rashid Adams, and Nuraan Kalam were also among the guests.
The organising team is seen here with Marjorie Maans, 90, front, right, who was the oldest person at the event.
