The Athlone and Crawford Neighbourhood Watch hosted a Women’s Day event on Saturday August 6 at St Mark’s hall in Crawford. The evening of fine dining and entertainment was arranged by the neighbourhood watch group’s men, in honour of their female neighbourhood watch members and patrollers.
The guest speaker, Raheema Kenny, delivered an inspiring message to the women, reminding them that they have an important role in the community.
Entertainment was provided by singer Zaitun, and the three-course meal was prepared by one of the patrollers, Rosvyn Pillay.
The evening concluded on a happy note as the male patrollers collectively serenaded the women with the well-known Nederlandse song, Rosa.
