Bukho Nchukana, a rhythmic gymnast from Langa, was among the top performers at the Cape Winelands district championships, in Somerset West, at the weekend, finishing third overall in her division.
Rhythmic gymnast Bukho Nchukana, from Langa, a member of the Kenilworth-based Rhythmic Salaagh Gymnastics Club, has earned her spot at the Western Cape championships in September, following a fine performance at the Cape Winelands district championships, in Somerset West, at the weekend.
Bukho, a Grade 7 pupil at Silverlea Primary School, in Kewtown, competed in the under-13 Level 7 section, and walked away with a silver and two bronze medals.
Rhythmic Salaagh Gymnastics Club’s Riley Stemmet and Taylor Bordill from Sunningdale’s Dynamic Gymnastics finished first and second in the under-9 Level 5 division at the weekend’s Cape Winelands district championships, in Somerset West. Riley also competed in the under-9 category at last year’s national championships in Johannesburg, at age 7.
