Since the start of winter, close to 30 fires have been reported on the Cape Flats.
According to the City of Cape Town’s fire and rescue spokesman, Theo Layne, the fire brigade responded to a fire at a wendy house in Hanover Park just after 6am on Saturday July 14.
He said the back of the main house was also damaged.
“The cause of the fire is undetermined,” he said.
Mr Layne said since Friday June 1, there have been 14 fires in Bonteheuwel, eight in Manenberg, two in Athlone and three in Hanover Park.
