Lansdowne police have arrested a 19-year-old suspected drug dealer.
The man was caught with R70 000 worth of drugs on Wednesday March 14, police say.
According to Landsdowne police spokesman Sergeant Nkululeko Mnyaka, officers acting on a tip-off found 300 Xanax tablets, 1079 cocaine tablets, 52 ecstasy tablets, dagga, and cash when they raided the man’s Ravens Close home in Ottery, at 6.30am.
He will appear in the Wynberg Magistrate’s Court on charges of possession of drugs.
• Athlone police arrested two men for the possession of drugs and prescription medication on Monday April 12, at 11.45am.
While patrolling the area, police searched the two men in Coningsby Road, Athlone, and found five Mylan Alprazolam 1mg tablets, 13 packets of cocaine, and R970 cash. The men will appear in the Athlone Magistrate’s Court.
Meanwhile, a 20-year-old man was shot in his left hand and right ear, in Vygieskraal squatter camp, on Monday April 12, at 2.50pm, according to Athlone police spokeswoman Sergeant Zita Norman.
