Police arrested a 54-year-old Bonteheuwel man for attempted murder after he allegedly shot his wife and son.
According to Bishop Lavis police spokesman Warrant Officer Joseph Swartbooi, the shootings happened at the family’s Bonteheuwel Avenue home at about 1am on Tuesday November 24.
Officers entering the house had heard screams for help and the son, 29, had told them he and his mother, 53, had been shot by his father, Warrant Officer Swartbooi said.
The two had been shot several times, and officers had found the suspect in a backyard dwelling with his gun.
• Bishop Lavis police arrested a 30-year-old man on Sunday November 22 on a charge of attempted murder.
According to Warrant Officer Swartbooi, a 35-year-old man was with friends in Stock Road in Kalksteenfontein at about 8.30pm when shots were fired from a white Nissan.
The victim was shot in the right shoulder and taken to hospital.

A woman died in the fire.
