At least 30 people have been displaced after a fire broke out in Manenberg last night.
No fatalities were reported.
City’s fire and rescue spokesman Edward Bosch said, “Last night before 9:30pm the city’s fire and rescue service responded to a dwelling alight at Helen Court in the Downs Road, Manenberg. Three fire engines, two water tankers and a rescue vehicle with 25 firefighters were dispatched to the incident. A total of six dwellings were affected by fire as well as two wooden structures completely destroyed. It took firefighters just over 90 minutes to extinguish the fire.”
One person was injured.
“One adult male sustained slight injuries and he was treated on scene by the fire and rescue service. The cause of the fire is undetermined at this stage.”
