African Battle Cry

■ Heal The Hood Project will be hosting the annual African Battle Cry on Saturday December 16 at Jolly Carp Organic Market, 38 Sasmeer Road, Retreat, from 6pm. There will be hip hop dance battles, live graffiti art and MC showcases. The venue will have two stages, chill areas and food, merchandise and refreshments will be on sale. The performance lineup includes DJ Thee Angelo, DJ Fingaz (Goodhope FM), Linkris the Genius, Klein Fortuin, Ethnique, Bass Print Music as well as an Open Mic session. Dance lovers can expect to see the best junior B-Boys and B-Girls; Three on Three B-Boy crew battles; Krump junior and seniors and the open styles category. The cover charge is R50 and R25 for under-12. The closing date to enter the competition is Friday December 15. Call the Heal The Hood Project office on 021 706 0481.
