The Athlone community centre’s Seniors Arts and Craft Club exhibited their work on Wednesday October 19. Custom-made clocks, mirrors, bead work, and painted fabrics were just some of the things on display. Speaking at the event, Ward 49 councillor Rashid Adams thanked the seniors, saying they had paved the way for the younger generation. “It’s our turn to make sure that you enjoy your twilight years. Your wonderful craft work can be taught to other younger people. I would also like to encourage all seniors groups to register at the sub-council,” he said.
