A man was arrested for allegedly driving while under the influence of alcohol at the scene of a collision in Hanover Park Avenue yesterday.
One of the drivers was found to be three times over the legal limit. He was arrested for drunk driving.
Bystanders then told the officers that the suspect was hiding a firearm in his cubby-hole.
Officers searched it and found a Toris .45 caliber firearm with one live round of ammunition.
Metro police spokesperson, Ruth Solomons, said: “While the firearm was legally registered to the suspect, he was charged with handling a firearm while intoxicated.”
On arrival at the local police station, it was discovered that the 40-year-old is also wanted in connection with attempted murder.
