Cape Mental Health is inviting children from primary schools, community groups and schools for pupils with special educational needs to enter the annual Edukite Competition, which takes place during the 25th Cape Town International Kite Festival in Muizenberg on Saturday October 26 and Sunday October 27. There are R12 000 of cash prizes to be won in two categories – mainstream pupils and pupils with special educational needs. In 2018 top honours went to Christel House from Ottery and Dorothea Special School from Stellenbosch. Email kim@cmh.org.za before Friday September 6 to enter a team. Each team of four children will be sent a special kite-making kit, with blank skins to decorate with their interpretation of the festival theme, “Let Hope Fly”. Call Kim Simpson at Cape Mental Health at 021 447 9040 for more information.
