The Youth Unemployment Prevention Project (YUPP) will be hosting its annual free post-school opportunities seminars to help matriculants make informed career choices, applications for further study and funding on Saturday September 23 from 10.30am until 2.30pm at Lydia Centre in District Six; on Tuesday September 26 from 1.30pm until 4.30pm at Spine Road High, in Rocklands; and on Saturday October 7 from 10.30am until 2.30pm at Lydia Centre in District Six.
Those who attend can hear about the more than 12 000 study opportunities available at the University of Cape Town (UCT), the University of the Western Cape (UWC), Cape Peninsula University of Technology, False Bay College, Northlink College and College of Cape Town; more than 5 000 training opportunities available through learnerships and other work-based training opportunities; and how to apply for bursaries and funding for further studies.
Those who plan to work next year will hear about the various employment opportunities offered by more than 30 corporates and how to apply.
One-on-one sessions with advisors will be available to help with making realistic career choices and the completion of applications.
Attendees must bring certified copies of their identity documents, proof of address, Grade 11 results, including April, June and December.
