Graduation ceremony

■ Imam Abdul Moutie Saban, a senior marriage counsellor at the Muslim Judicial Council (MJC) has been teaching a marriage course for 33 years, and on Monday August 21, he handed out 100 diplomas to his latest batch of graduates, during a function at Alexander Sinton High School hall, where he holds his classes. It’s mostly couples planning to get married who attend the course. This year, however, there were a few parents who attended with their children. It’s a seven month course, with weekly sessions lasting one-and-a-half hours. The next one will start in January. This couple, Fatima Mazari and Ismail Rawoot, who are both fourth-year medical students, were among the 100 who completed the marriage course.
