■ A campaign to inspire people to keep Nelson Mandela’s legacy of service to others alive, resulted in to Bridgeville Primary School in Bridgetown receiving a donation of musical instruments from Smile 90.4FM. The station’s Making Music for Madiba campaign last year brought together 67 buskers for 67 minutes from 67 locations across the Mother City for Mandela Day, raising a total of R32 014.44. A variety of instruments such as keyboards, guitars, amps and accessories were handed over to kick-start Bridgeville’s music department and help pupils and children in the community with music lessons. The school aims to fortify music as an art form and to develop well-rounded individuals through their music and academic offering.
