A 22-year-old man was arrested in Hanover Park, last Friday, for the illegal possession of guns and drugs, say police.
Officers found two pistols, tik and mandrax with an estimated street value of R2000, and an undisclosed amount of cash at the premises in Groenhall Walk, said Philippi SAPS spokesman Captain Lance Goliath.
On Wednesday December 7, police arrested a man in Manenberg for the illegal possession of a gun and ammunition, shortly after a gang shooting.
“At 7.30pm on Wednesday, our members responded to a gang shooting in Peta Court, Manenberg. The suspect was pointed out and SAPS members gave chase on foot and confronted a 22-year-old man with a .38 Special revolver with five rounds of ammunition in Ruth Court,” said Manenberg police spokesman Captain Ian Bennett.
