A man has been brought in for questioning following the fatal shooting of two cousins in Hanover Park on Wednesday September 6, say police.
Tawfeeq Cummings and his cousin, Umar Majiet, were shot and killed while in a car in Lonedown Walk.
Philippi police spokesman Captain Lance Goliath said a man had been brought in for questioning at the weekend, but no arrests had been made.
“The law must take its course. An arrest can only be made once the man can be positively linked to the double murder,” Captain Goliath said.
In response to the killings, the Madina Institute SA released a statement calling on communities to make their streets places of safety, neighbourly love, peace and hope for future generations.
Thousands gathered for the men’s funeral at the Johnston Road cemetery on Friday September 8.
