Police seize drugs, guns in Manenberg, Heideveld

SAPS and other law enforcement agencies confiscated R100 000 worth of drugs and seized four guns in Manenberg and Heideveld over the past week, say police.

According to Manenberg police spokesman Captain Ian Bennett, police arrested a 33-year-old man in Zuurberg Road, Heideveld, on Wednesday November 1 for the illegal possession of a .38 Special revolver.

On Saturday November 4, a 17-year-old boy was arrested in Longkloof Circle, Heideveld, and on Sunday November 5, an 18-year-old man was arrested in Gonubie Road, Manenberg for the illegal possession of guns.

“Another firearm was confiscated from a legal owner, and the investigation continues. Drugs to the value of R100 000 were also confiscated,” Captain Bennett said.
