Four Groenvlei High School pupils who visited Hanover Cottages old aged home, as part of their Life Orientation project, were so inspired being there, that they now want to volunteer there regularly.
Saudickah de Villiers, Cindy-Lee Witbooi, Nicole van Niekerk and Mica Daniels, all in Grade 10, chose to spend three hours at the home, where they helped with cleaning the kitchen and playing games with the seniors.
The girls could only afford to spoil the seniors with chips, because of a lack of funds, but hope that the next time they go, they would be able to give them much more.
They are already trying to source a funder.
Their visit formed part of the social and environmental responsibility project they had to tackle.
