Mustadafin Foundation hosted its annual seniors lunch at the Dulcie September civic centre in Athlone on Saturday September 21. The foundation hosted over 400 seniors from areas such as Hanover Park, Parkwood, Mitchell’s Plain, Khayelitsha and Delft.
“This is the month of Muharram, the Islamic New Year, and we wanted to take this opportunity to thank them for making today special as they have laid down the foundation for us to continue working,” said director, Ghairunisa Johnstone-Cassiem.
The seniors were treated to a three-course meal and local artists Ikeraam, Protege and Nisaa made sure they were well entertained. All the guests also went home with a gift bag.
Ms Johnstone-Cassiem thanked the sponsors, volunteers and staff who made the event possible, saying without their contributions, the Mustadafin Foundation would not be able to run its programmes.
