The SA Weather Office has issued a severe weather warning.
Gale force, north-westerly winds are expected along the coast between Table Bay and Cape Agulhas from tonight until late tomorrow morning
Severe thunderstorms are expected over the Cape Metropole, south-eastern parts of the Cape Winelands and northern parts of the Overberg, with a good chance of hail.
The City’s Disaster Risk Management Centre are preparing for possible flooding and wind damage.
“So far, impacts are expected to be minor. However, there is a small possibility of certain areas being significantly affected, specifically informal settlements over the Cape Flats and southern Peninsula, with flooding and strong winds potentially causing damage,” said disaster risk management spokesperson, Charlotte Powell.
“All City Services and applicable external agencies are being placed on stand-by to deal with any potential consequences related to the weather,” she said.
