Athlone police arrested a 27-year-old woman for drug dealing after finding a stash of mandrax on Monday November 19.
Officers acting on a tip-off, found 100 mandrax tablets in the bathroom ceiling of a Field Crescent home in Athlone, according to Athlone police spokeswoman, Sergeant Zita Norman.
A 42-year-old suspected drug dealer from Grassy Park has handed himself over to the police.
The man fled when officers raided a Rouxton Road office in Lansdowne on Saturday November 17, according to police spokesman Sergeant Nkululeko Mnyaka.
Officers searching the man’s rented office premises found packets of tik with a street value of more than R25 000.
The suspect handed himself over to the police several hours later.
Sergeant Mnyaka said the man had admitted to keeping the drugs at his work place so no one would notice.
