The gift of water

■ The Gift of the Givers Foundation donated 800 litres of water to Saambou Primary School in Manenberg, in an effort to alleviate thirst during the drought. Acting principal Angelo Valentine said by implementing water-saving measures at the school – such as turning off the water mains at staggered intervals – the pupils are experiencing difficulty in quenching their thirst as they try to keep consumption levels low. In thanking the Gift of the Givers, Mr Valentine said: “We salute you on reaching out to bring relief to the indigent, while fostering the values of camaraderie and geniality.”
