Protest against suspension of SABC journalists

Lukhanyo Calata, the son of murdered struggle activist Fort Calata of the Cradock Four and SABC parliamentary reporter, spoke out against censorship at the SABC.

On Friday last week, about one hundred journalists and members of civic organisations gathered outside the Sea Point SABC offices to protest the recent suspension of SABC journalists for covering protests. The protest was held in solidarity of the suspended journalists and also concern about censorship at the public broadcaster. The protest also followed the resignation of acting CEO Jimi Matthews.
