Women living in and near Crystal Place in Hanover Park were treated to an afternoon of entertainment by one of their neighbours. Shamiela de Villiers, who has hosted four annual street party events for children in her road, decided to focus on just the women this time around. Children from the area, as well as young people from other areas, entertained the women with dance and song, and the women themselves, took part in a beauty contest – just for fun. The event, which was held in a small courtyard, attracted hundreds of people. With the help of local business people, Ms De Villiers was also able to spoil the women with goody bags.
